The Almont House is located 10 miles North of Gunnison CO. and 15 miles South of Crested Butte, CO. Almont is a small community located on the headwaters of the Gunnison River at the confluence of the East and Taylor Rivers (known as the Almont Triangle). This is a great jumping-off point for whitewater rafting and kayaking, and is perfectly suited for outdoor enthusiast. It’s a scenic 4 hr. drive from Denver on hwy 285 to Salida, then taking hwy 50 across Monarch pass to Gunnison. From Gunnison you travel North on hwy 135 a short 10 miles along the Gunnison River to Almont. Be sure to take a drive up county road 742 to Taylor Reservoir which connects to Cottonwood Pass and the historic mining town of TinCup. The mountain & river views are spectacular!

There's a bus stop at the end of our private driveway providing free bus service to Crested Butte, Mt. Crested Butte and Gunnison throughout the day and evening for those that don’t want to drive. Local dining: The Almont Resort and Restaurant, with bar and outdoor patio is only a short walk away serving breakfast, lunch and dinner year-round. Three Rivers Resort located across the river bridge offers great BBQ during the summer season and has a general store and fly shop. Gunnison and Crested Butte both have some great bars and restaurants.
